SYNergy Deeply Works on Mini and Irregular-Shaped Lithium-ion Batteries

SYNergy ScienTech Corporation has been focussing on the technology in making mini and irregular-shaped lithium-ion polymer batteries and has kept on bringing out innovations and reaching breakthroughs. Starting first with batteries for blue tooth headsets, SYNergy, which makes products of high performance-cost ratio, has won a stable market share worldwide and has become a cooperative partner of major companies of blue tooth headsets. In recent years, by following the 3C market trends and paying more efforts on wearable devices and medical gadgets, SYNergy has endeavored to prepare itself for exploration and development of new materials, production processes, and production techniques of mini and irregular-shaped lithium-ion polymer batteries, as well as striven to become a principal supplier of mini and irregular-shaped lithium-ion polymer batteries worldwide.

Quite different from the standardized lithium-ion battery applications such as for mobile phones, tablets, notebooks, etc. which occupy the large share of the consumer market. Mini and irregular-shaped lithium-ion polymer batteries are customer-made products. Because the major companies of lithium-ion batteries in Japan, Korea, and mainland China are devoting their main resources to the research, development, and production of medium- and large-sized standardized products, they do not have advantage in producing highly customized mini and irregular-shaped lithium-ion polymer batteries.

Four or five years ago, armed with a deep and firm foundation in the R & D and production of blue tooth headset batteries, SYNergy further dedicated itself to the R & D of mini and irregular-shaped lithium-ion batteries, and gradually won cutting-edge achievements in lithium-ion batteries of high voltage and high energy density, either miniature in size or crescent, or cylindrical, or curved in shape in recent years. The quantities of products shipped from SYNergy last year reached millions of packs, and in the next one or two years, demands for its products are expected to be expanding, which will help the company gain more global market share in the field of applications like portable wearable devices and medical gadgets.

Dr. Xuekun Xing, President of SYNergy, announced that SYNergy has been awarded at Taiwan with a patent related to the technique in making curved batteries and the corresponding US and European Union patents are pending, which help SYNergy with developing the wearable device market. Curved batteries developed by SYNergy, unlike the ones designed by the battery companies in Japan, Korea, and mainland China, have a stable curve in shape, not subject to change after the charge and discharge cycling.

Besides, according to Dr. Xing, the SYNergy curved battery has the following superior characteristics: It has been designed with a high charging voltage of 4.35V, thus elevating its volumetric energy density. It also shows a long cycle life; it can be charged and discharged for more than 1,000 times, with a limited thickness increase (lower than 6%). At present, a number of major companies of international renown are using SYNergy’s curved batteries in new-fangled wearable devices such as watches, bracelets, eyeglasses, and rings, etc.

To accommodate the trend towards miniaturization of blue tooth headsets and wearable devices, and to fulfill the user’s expectation of “putting on the wearable on the body without feeling its existence”, SYNergy has for many years striven to develop the technical know-how of battery miniaturization and at the same time, to maintain its specific capacity.

Kevin Wang, Vice President of Sales & Marketing in SYNergy, pointed out that the company has developed a new lithium-ion polymer battery with dimensions of 11mm wide and 13 mm long with the capacity of up to more than 70 mAh, and it can be fast charged at the rate of 2C, and 80% of its capacity can be achieved after being charged for 40 minutes, thus greatly shortening the charging time. This mini battery has been put under mass production and is ready for shipment. Because of its favorite unit price, it can boost SYNergy’s revenue in the second half of 2015.
