SYNergy launches consumer electronics battery powered by XNO® anode technology





Taiwanese battery manufacturer, SYNergy ScienTech Corp (SYNergy), has launched high-performance ultra-fast charging battery cells for use in consumer electronic products powered by Echion’s niobium-based XNO® anode material. SYNergy has also added XNO® to its product development roadmap, citing XNO®’s ability to deliver the unique combination of ultra-fast charging, long cycle life, high usable energy density, safety and in extreme environmental and temperature conditions as being appealing for applications beyond consumer electronics. SYNergy’s XNO® equipped 1Ah pouch battery cells achieve an energy density of 282 Wh/L and deliver a maximum continuous charging current of 12A. This allows the cell to achieve an average charging rate of at least 10C (i.e. <6 minutes) across the full state-of-charge, doubling the cycle life of current graphite-based technologies. It also performs safely while in extreme conditions between -30°C and 60°C.
